I find so much inspiration in book covers. The ability to communicate a story’s core idea through a singular design is such an exciting adventure to take on. I love to create covers that support and strengthen the content within.

With a title like Less, a word with a negative connotation, this novel is an uplifting, bittersweet journey about adventure and acceptance. I wanted to create a cover that evoked that in a simple, matter-of-fact way, reflecting the tone of its narrator. Thus, I went for a minimalistic approach, with bold typography for the title, with book-significant locations within.

For Strangers Have the Best Candy, I had a similar challenge - it has a title that can be taken multiple ways. The book itself is a memoir about discovery and unlikely friendships, so I designed something sweet and inviting. I chose a bubbly serif and a bright, poppy color palette.
